Man, i'm afraid your gonna have to paint, if you ever wanna make that car look right. Were you planning on leaving it black with the white hood and roof? I don't understand why in the hell they spray painted it all over like that to begin with.

I don't either. I read about a product used in California to take graffiti off of Taxi cabs and such, its soy bean based...... I figure I am gonna throw everything including the kitchen sink at it. Worse case senario I have to repaint, right?

Yea i'd say your pretty much free to try anything. If they make something to take graffiti off cars, then I would buy that first and try it, before trying anything else. It'll be almost impossible to use anything abrasive on it, like wet sanding, rubbing compound, etc., and not screw up the clear coat underneith and around it.

If it has the original finish you can use regular laquer thinner, it will not harm the original finish. If it has been repainted and you dont know what kind of paint it is be careful and test a spot before hand. Even a low grade thinner or solvent from any hardware store will most likely do the trick.
With Sikkens clear coats you can acually place a thinner soaked rag on a fully cured finish over night and it will not harm it.
Like I said, if your not sure of it being the original finish test a spot and work carefully.

The clay bar is for removing fine contaminants on the surface of the paint like overspray,
if you rub hard enough it might polish the paint a little though.. lol

Now for the question.
Why the hell did they do that in the first place ????????

My car was vandalized once with spray paint, and my buddy that runs a body shop suggested foaming oven cleaner. As long as its on top of the clear, the spray paint should come off. It also removes pin strips that were added after the clear was done too. You will still need to use a little elbow grease.

Man, that's gonna be a lot of work. In my opinion, I really think you should just have it repainted. One time I had my roof repainted from oxidation. It would of costed 350.00. The shop said for 450.00 they would just paint the whole car. Main reason is they didn't want to go through the trouble of matching the paint with the rest of the car. You will also have to get the body shop to fill in that huge hole where the lightbar used to be. Save some time and a lot of hard work. You'll like the results in the long run.

instead of filling the light-bar hole, cut the roof off for T-Tops -- i've seen the how to mod write-up before somewhere... it can be done for only $700 if you do it yourself, and that included the T-tops!
all camaros under the top metal skin have the t-top frame.. you just have to replace the headlinger, do a little cutting, bending and some paint touch up!
