Question TSP lid owners inside>>>

Well my carbon fiber Whisper lid has started to rub the underside of my hood so much that it's taken the finish off the lid itself. The shroud is sitting flat & no matter how I try to adjust things it doesn't seem to help.

Does anyone with a TSP lid have the same problem? Whisper said specifically when I bought theirs that they had no rubbing issues, but obviously that's not the case. I'm sure Texas Speed will claim the same, but I wanted to see what some actual owners have to say before I purchase one.

Thanks guys.

no rubbing ever with my whisper c/f. Why dont you adjust the height of your hood? The little stopper ***** on the left and right side, unscrew them a little and you shouldnt have any problems.

I actually did that already & it still rubs. The hood line now is already higher than the fenders & raising it anymore won't look right.

I know what you mean. I'm having the same problem. Its rubbing the paint off the bottom of my hood and putting scuff marks on a small part of my lid. The only thing I can suggest is to put some insulation on the bottom of your hood to keep it from scratching. Dynomat makes a kit that you could cut to fit your hood. It should protect it from scratching the lid and it should also cool the hood down which will make the ram air more efficient.

MTI on a 99 R/A Trans Am and the TSP on a 01 Formula. No problems what-so-ever with either of the lids.

I forgot to add that my hood needs to be aligned. After I do that, I'll check for rubbing. Let you know as soon as I get it done. Never knew anyone else that had problems with a TSP lid though.

I think the ss and ws6 are more prone to rubbing because the lower airbox is taller on them compared to the transam and z28.
