First off, I'm roll racing at 40mph for all these races. I'm an A4, and at 40, I'm at 1.5rpms. I was just mashing the pedal from that speed. Neon was a stage whatever, around 300hp, Cobra was N/A, gears and exhaust. Yeah, pretty stupid of me to be doing that, I got what I deserved, a beatdown. I didn't know any better, I just usually race from a dig(when I have tires), or from a 10-15mph roll.

1st race versus Cobra, actually went from a dig. He takes off, I just spin and spin and spin(street tires, with not a whole lot of tread left). He had about 10 carlenghts on me before i really get going. I just shut it down.
Next, we go from a 40 roll(again, me at 1.5krpms). He pulls immediately about 2-3 cars, but I start reeling him in, but shut it down at 110.

Neon had me by 3 cars each time we went from a 40 roll. He kept pulling, and I couldn't get him. Shut down was around 115. He seemed quite suprised that he beat me. He almost didn't want to race me initially(open pipes and cam will do that).

My buddy I picked up told me on the way home to downshift the thing to 2nd while at 40. This brought me to over 4k rpms. I stomped it, and it just pulled and pulled. I manually shifted the thing to D at around 6.5k. Felt a hell of a lot better, and probably would've given me a much better shot at roll racing.

UHHHHH, I could've sworn I typed in S R T 4, but it keeps coming up as Neon, Neon, Neon. Now i feel even worse

on second thought that really realy sux.. perhaps the cobra was feeding u **** or something is horribly wrong.. no way a exhuast gear cobra beats a stock ls1 imo... least they never beat mine.. we are talking about a 01 not 03 right

Awhile ago when the srtforums guys "invaded" ls1tech our guys altered the site so that S*R*T*4 would turn into NeonNeonNeon (or some version of that) It was funny. As it is now I type S*R*T*4 and get Neon. I still find it funny.

With a 3500 stall converter running from a 40 roll, while NOT your strong suit, shouldn't be horrid like it is when stock. Of course, it's still probably your weakest speed to go from.

I'm thoroughly confused.

You have a G5X2, a 3500 stall, full exhaust, etc and you got smoked by 10 cars by a light bolt on '01 Cobra...and a Neon?

I don't mean to be rude, but may I inquire about your age? I ask because many younger guys aren't experienced racers.

You should've laid the smack down on both cars.

I was smoked by the 01 cobra from a dig due to my excessive spinning. He had a damn near perfect launch. I was all over the road and WOULD NOT hook.

Your right though. I was unprepared(street tires), and didn't do the proper procedure for roll racing from 40. The S R T was nasty though, for what it is. The same thing happened to my buddy when racing a similar setup. He got yanked by about 4 cars when just mashing the pedal from a 40 roll.

Win some, lose some, learn some.

Yeah you should have killed those cars. Your car should be making around 380rwhp, maybe more. If all you were doing was spinning against the cobra, well than heck you'd lose to a taurus if all you're doing is spinning. The Neon though sounds like it had more than 300hp though.

Try to avoid racing from a 40 roll. It's rather well known to be the worse possible, quit letting them use it against you.

Thinking more about your mods, I don't see how you didn't take the Cobra even going from 40.....

wE'LL i DOUBT the neon had over 300, just from my opinion I have ran a few cammed LS1's in my SKITTLE and beat SOME of them and one pulled side by side with me in the very top of 4th. but i didnt know their exact setup (cam, intake and exhaust for sure). I did run CRAGERS cammed T/A, but damn hes fast..
I put down 266whp and 303tq.. Watch out on the 40 rolls with some NEONS, at 40 they are ready to SPOOL.....

Cammed LS1s should be *** raping a 266fwhp skittle. ANd i dont think speed has much to do with "SPOOLING". Probably just depends more on RPMs.

Hey JB, what color was the SRT? cause there is one runnin around here pushing like 500 hp. maybe u ran into him, so u shouldn't feel bad about the lost. u can make anything fast with money.

nice numbers...what are your RPMs at 40? when i raced two neons from a 40 roll i got out in front so bad at 100 i had about two buses on them....they were like intake only or exhaust only dont remember....but i give them credit for being a quick and easily modified car
