Default Painting intake manifold.....advantages??

I'm sure people do, but who has painted their intake manifolds? I was thinking of ceramic painting mine. Will ceramic paint have any advantages as far as disepating heat? Will the paint hold??

thanks

I doubt you'll see any performance benefits. The manifold doesn't get very hot anyway.

I have sanded/painted mine, but only for cosmetic reasons.

Plastic intake manifolds don't tend to get heat soaked.

If you want to paint it a diff color for cosmetic reasons, go for it.

I dont imagine ceramic coating it would help...

if anything make heat disapation worse... but I highly doubt that as well..

don't paint your intake manifold. if you have to test fuel pressure or something gets spilled it eats all the paint in that area. if gm wanted a red intake on a red car that would have done it. just my $.02.

If you want to paint it, go for it. If you need to work on the engine, it may get messed up, but it sure looks good.

Been working on cars for awhile... dont recall spilling much gas on the intake area recently. Thanks for the heads up though. I was thinking of using that caliper paint. The heavy duty red one.

uros are used on just about every car from the factory. Painting the intake would be no different than whats on your car. If something was going to eat away at the paint then it would do it to the rest of the car if you got in on there.

And if GM wanted hockey stripes, a billet grille, and black wheels on Camaros, they'd have done that as well.

Paint your intake if you think it looks good, just dont cut any corners and do it right the first time, and you shouldn't have many problems in the future.

Yeah, because all we want out of these cars is what GM wants.

Using that logic this site shouldn't even exist, 99.5% of what is discussed on this site isn't the way GM did it.
