I thought it was around a hundred miles that the computer finally adjusts, but I could be wrong, and probably won't be set perfect until you do get a tune. Wait until you get a cam though, unless your not planning on doing that, then go ahead and get it tuned.

I wont be able to afford a cam for some time (or until my commision kicks back in) so I might try just a "dial in" session. When it's running right it and i hammer it in 2nd it breaks the tires loose, i mean from a decent mph roll....but the other day i did the same thing and it climbed rpms really slow....i dunno, my car has gremlins, it has for a while..... I need a tune for sure

Lookin like I'm going to have to...LS1 edit or comprable software is a re-wite or reflash of your exsisting pcm right? Can it be easily reversed to let's say, pass smog testing in CA?

Dont know much about this but all ive read about cali testing, said that guys are running up to a 224/224 114ish cam, headers ect without problems passing. No need to reverse the tune. Headers should not increase emissions unless untuned and decatted. I would look for someone that has the tuning stuff already as i had to buy mine and it costed alot to justify for just headers.

Makes sense...I have seen guys with stg II ported heads and the 224/224 .561+ inchs of lift passing smog....so the tune isnt going to affect it unless it's real aggresive?

Default Question about headers

Hi

I just put headers on my car and it seems to be running fine. It did pick up additional power after driving it for a while. My question is, after headers does it usually run lean or rich? I did notice a little bit of mis-firing at WOT when I first put them on. I assumed this was lean. Any input appreciated.

Thanks JA

I believe it will run rich in most cases.
