Default Volant?

Do any of you guys have the Volant CAI? Should I get the $250 volant or just get A $100 lid? Since the volant seals to the hood I thought it might work better with the ram air? Any suggestions?

Thanks

My friend DaBigJC, has one. It sounds mean as hell. You can hear the air getting sucked into the car. I would use it instead of a lid if i had an UltraZ hood or T/A ram air hood.

I like the volant intake myself, that is why I designed my own but w/o the box. kind of a cross between the volant and FIPK

As Doug said... it'll work. Actually, the Volant was designed for the non-Ram Air hood. In order to get it to seal completely on a Ram Air hood, you have to fit the box with an additional gasket of some sort. I used a length of foam copper pipe insulation. Works great and looks like it came that way.

I forgot to mention we have the Volant in stock and on sale here. We are an authorized dealer, which means you have a warranty.

Are there supposed to be any power gains from it? Realistically? I know they advertise it, but has anyone done any comparisons? I was thinking about getting it back a while now, but nobody really told me anything definite about it so I ended up just going with the SLP lid.

dunno about power gains... probably minimal... but I would get it just so i wouldn't have to deal with sealing issues of a lid or cracking issues or rubbing hood issues...

All that I have out of those is the sealing thing, but didn't somebody up higher say you have to seal the volant with the WS6 hood anyway because it was designed for the standard TA's? That's kinda the same thing... :/ Sorta. lol

Won't they pull more hot air from the engine than a lid with ram air?
