Question fully polished lingenfelter intake for around $400.00

I have done a lot of searching about this intake and have heard lots of mixed opinions. I realize the heat soak factor and all, but what I was wondering is it seems like everyone says for the money being it is 800-900 bucks brand new that it is not worth it over the ls6 intake, that you wont gain anymore from it than you would over the ls6. Well what I was wondering is does it provide about the same performance results as the ls6 if so than It is definately better than the current ls1 intake i'm running correct? It's just not worth the price as far as power goes right? But if you had the chance to get a fully polished one for around 400.00 bucks would you pick it over the ls6?

TIA,

TIA,
Most definitely, they are awesome looking and if you don't like it, sell it for $600.

Alright I have searched and read for about half an hour because I was curious and every single post was stated that there were no gains on average between the two intakes. I wish I had some real facts though.

For 400 bucks.... thats really a hell of a deal. Spend the time to port match your intake runners (heads off) and the manifold. Cant do that with plastic.

Thanks for everyones input, I was really wanting to make sure that it would out perform the stock ls1 intake. After doing some more searching I have come to the conclusion that it is basicly the same design as the ls6 just aluminum and as far as heat soak goes that would not really come into play unless the car was sitting. While driving heat soak should not be a big issue. I believe after searching that it will have the same gains as an ls6 just not more gains which I already new. For the price I think I should be satisfied.

dont forget that it also weighs like 25lbs compared to a 2lb LS6.

i just get the LS6 and forget about that overweight, heatsoaked, linginfelter....

I'm not worried about the weight at all. I already purchased it. I really doubt I would loose any power with the 23 pound difference. I really don't drag race the car. It is a street car with all the options. Thanks for the input though, I think it is gonna look sweet with my polished MTI tb and polished radiator shroud.

Thumbs up

Tranzaman00,

I'm interested in your setup - how is it performing? And how is the bling factor? I'm installing a 405 HP LS6 crate engine and need an intake/tb setup.
