Downloading Perfromance Tune from the NET????
I work at a chevy dealership and at the shop we have a "tech 2" (GMs scan tool) well very often there are recalls on cars to do some reprogramming to the EVAP system or and Air bag issue all you do is hook up the tech 2 too the computer and download the new file off the net ....well i was wondering....does anyone make Downloadable performance tunes that I can downloading into the tech 2 then into my cars PCM???...I would like something specific for my car......does anyone know of someone who does this???

Performance tuning revolves about matching the sensor
calibrations and the commanded fuel/spark (and shiftpoints,
and whatever) to the car's mechanical realities. "Canned"
tunes only fit as well, as the vehicle matches the recipe.
Not to say that GM couldn't, or shouldn't produce some
performance tunes for dealerships to apply, but my money
is on "won't".
Fortunately there's the aftermarket.

that would be a slick trick. But, as stated before, the biggest gains from tuning are because the tune is matched to the car. Similar philosophy to picking a cam shaft. Off the shelf might work, but having a cam matched to the machine works better.
