Default MSD 7AL-3 Ignition on LS1
can you use this ignition on an LS1? what else would need to be done to use it?

No way you can make it work with 8 coils and only one output for the coil.

thats one of my fav parts of the LS1.

NOTHING needs to be upgraded in the ignition.. you can run a turboed 7 sec drag car with these ignition parts.... they're good coils.. and theres one for each cyl... so lots of charge time, and a nice full hot spark everytime.... with a short plug wire.


some guys put the MSD wires on, but its not needed and no real gains... they do look nicer though.

btw, if you just want to do something to look cool, look into coil relocation... moving the coils so they're not on top of the motor anymore.
