Default What is the best clutch(500hp daily driver)?

Im looking for a good clutch for my soon to be 500hp daily driver. One that will hold up to a good bit of abuse. I only take the car to the track once a month at the least. I have been looking at Mcloed dual friction single disk, TPIS,spec stage II-III, just want tp see what you guys have to say. Thanks for the help.

Centerforce clutches are good on the LT1's. Sh!tty on the LS1 cars. That's my vote.

Spec Stage 3 Clutches seem to do well for alot of people. That is what I am leaning toward on my Z. Might want to try a post in the LT1 section while you are at it

Thanks guys. Im about to put some ported heads and may take the LT4 HOTCAM out and put in a cc306. Thats the reason for the clutch swap. I have been told lots of good stuff about the spec stage 3I. Did not know if it was to much clutch. STATE joking or not my car makes loads of power and i have lots of Dyno time to show for it. All jokes aside Im greatful for all the help.

I'd give the Spec a try. Im sure it'll hold for ya for quite awhile and besides if it fails on ya then just go on over to there place in b'ham and have a few words with them

Had a centerforce in my moms lt1 t/a, felt like complete crap. Swapped in a ram powergrip hd, worked excellent. I haven't had good experience with ram in ls1's but the lt1's been running great with it for over 15k miles. It's taken PLENTY of abuse

AMS Racing sales a lightweight steel billet flywheel on Ebay for $175, thats what I'm running with my Spec stage 3 and it works great.

Excedy (for me) sucks-***. Holds GREAT, but is the worst clutch for the street I've ever driven. I'd not buy one again personally. To hard to slip in normal driving.
