Default CD burners answer 1 for Me!

What kink of CD's will my 98 Z28 play? I bought a new computer and was going to try to make me a cd for the car but I don't know what types of CD's the stock cd player in a 98 Z28 would play? I know there are the CD-RW and the CD+RW which will play and what won't?

Mine plays all, Its a 99 but dont know if that would matter or not. I would try the CD+R or CD+RW first.

My 01 CD Player is a little finicky. It will not play a Fry's brand CD-R, but it will play a name brand CD-R.

Just buy a regular CD-R , CD-RWs have a much lower reflectivity and will not always play. When looking for a CD-R ones with blue die instead of gold or green will work the best.

I have had bad luck with cheapo greens in my changer,
and forget CD-RW out back. The good blue ones are
harder and harder to find. I have had good results with
Memorex CD-R "pro" which is a blue-green colored dye.
I have a stack of Office Depot ones that will only play
in the head unit CD.

Our cars will play CD-R's no problem. What people forget to do is TURN DOWN THE WRITE SPEED. Do not burn at 52X. It's a hit or miss at these speeds. Some aftermarket CD players have CD read correction; all home PC computers do. The stock CD player in our cars, be it the single Monsoon head unit, or the 12-disc CD changer has very limited correction.

Burn your CD's around 10X and you will not have a problem.

Trust me. I have owned both players in two different cars...

Best luck with the blue dye.
Fuji has always used blue dye.

All of those should work. It also depends on what program you burn with. If you can get it Nero burning software will level all you music so none of its louder than the rest and also "overburn " cd's Allow you to fit more music on them.Just make sure the mp3's you are burnung are sampled at 128 kz. They seem to play the best when burned.
