Default See what she can do!?!

I am going to take my baby SS out on a little road trip (about 100 miles) from Phoenix to Payson this weekend. My tires are in good condition, and I replaced the fluids about 3,000 miles ago. Roads are a little windy, but I know I may open her up on a few of them.

Any suggestions on what I should check to make sure she is set for a good run?

Tire PSI?

Yea. I am blessed. No oil leaks and with my custom tune, she runs very will without any KR in gears 1-4. Should I add octane booster?

I drove my Z 1,950 miles from utah to pittsburgh in 30 hours with no problems, didn't even loose a drop oil. 100 miles is a walk in the park. Like jaberwaki said fill up the gas and go.

I think the stock governed speed is 161. With full boltons and a tr224 I passed 155 with ease and stoped looking at the speedo for about 20 sec of more pulling.

Paysons a pretty cool place. My Uncle has a house up there that he goes to on the weekends and such. Its a pretty fun drive as well, I would love to take my Camaro up some of those roads. What are you going to do up there?

I think (hope) he was referring to when he "opens it up" along the way.

Stockish I only went over about 120's a few times because the rate of acceleration dropped off and I didn't have very long roads. Went 140 once with no problem. TWO HANDS ON THE WHEEL, know where you are and make sure that if you lose control you are the only one who suffers. Not the best thing to talk about, but it's important we don't put others at risk when having our fun.

I still havn't gone over 140, that's about where I'd be shifting into OD and WOT in OD is hard on these trannies. I don't need to excessively beat on my new $2k trans, it's bad enough that it gets up to 210-230* in daily driving. Damn it's too hot!

Meeting a few friends for my B-Day. I am very excited for the drive. This is the first time I will have brought her out of the Phoenix metropolitan city limits. Car was daily driven, and I have made her a weekend baby. I really want to see how she likes the open cool roads.

I always keep an eye on caution though. I lost my first Camaro V6 on the 101... :-( <--- I miss her. Rarest color of all too... Electron Blue...

Get this someone in town rebuilt her too. I hope to get the two cars together sometime.

What I was really concerned about was tire pressure. I know the Eagle F-1's are rated Z's, but I was also wondering what the best PSI would be for a trip like this?

Keep it at factory pressure. You should only need to lower it at the strip, for better traction.
