help look at my plugs
car ran like **** the other nite at the track... mail order tune mods in sig.. i wondered what was up.. didn't run much better then it did untuned..
the white plugs came out 3 days ago... they were also on the mial order tune tho for about 50 miles driving around town.... then i swapped..
pulled those brown plugs out today..
no nitrous, no knocking ect.. why would they come out different i dunno.. i am getting multi cyl. missfire codes.. but ive been getting those ever since is strated running the tr6's back when i sprayed.. i had it scanned and it missfired a lil at idle. but i was told at the time that was colder plugs and a new converter
car doesn't puff any smoke.. doesn't seem to burn any oil ever b/t oil changes.. and i mean none.. i get 5.5 quarts back out of it every 3000 miles since the first oil change to the last oil change which took place the when i changed the plugs 3 days ago.. i also always look for metal inside the filters ect.. have never had any of this either

are thw brown ones different plugs? I mean, the brown ones look good to me man, thats about where they shoul dbe, the white ones are EXTREMELY lean. If you changed to a hotter plug, that could have made the difference, but wouldnt think it would go from being that lean, to perfect in a few days. Not sure, but they look good to me, the brown ones that is.

well good im safe there...
now i just gotta figure out my missfire and possilbe false knock and get some tires and i might run worht a damn...
i posted in another thread tho no one responded... while doing this plug checking i noticed i left some bolts off the passenger side coil pack.. in the back.. ive heard of leaving the last one out.. but i left the last 3 out somehow, and it was flopping up and down tapping the valve cover hard enuff to remove the paint i put there.. lol think this would cuase some false knockage? fixed now, maybe it will run better

Your plugs are fouling causing the misfire. Go to a hotter plug tr55's or AC 41-974. Your tune is too rich for the tr6's and maybe even tr55's.

so ur saying go to a tr55 and my missfire problems will go away on motor...
and the car will run better... not throw codes ect
okay.. i can live with that.. i guess when i dyno tune he can fix it for the tr6's and the gas

Your plugs are supposed to be that color, and they are not fouled looking. It is hard to get a accurate tune without the tuner doing it in person and on a dyno with wideband. Mailorder is usually only ballpark. Your best numbers will be as stated. I think they look pretty good for mailorder.

No offense, but if the white plugs are not powdery, they arent lean. I have plugs that run for thousands of miles like that, on 13.1:1 afr WOT, 14.7 cruise and not being lean. A powdery white, that rubs off when touched, is lean. The brownish red is from additives in pump gas, MMT I believe. Some plugs can be white (not powdery) some redish brown and be good at the same time. Nitrous tends to leave a greenish streaking btw.

hmm i was running octane booster.. oh well im still getting misfires at idle rather its rich or not.. so im swapping in some stock heat range plugs and ditching the tr6's till my dynotune and time to spray again... this will hopefully get rid of the check engine light huh
