Default Do I have a broke Flywheel. Local help isn't trusthworthy, read please

Today I went to Mr. Transmission to get some "Expert" Advice. I drove up their. Walked in the door and the manager guy talked to me. I told him I have a general question I was wanting to know if I could get answered. I gave my vehicle specs etc. I said I have a 3500 Stall converter. He interupted "What do you need a 3500 stall converter for on the street?". I said I have a big cam. "oh". He walked out ot my truck, I gave him my keys and he cranked it up, heard the noise. I said "there's that noise". He then put it in drive and had his foot all the way on the brake and started revving it.
"Son, this ain't a 3500 stall converter"
-"Yes it is"
"No it ain't. I've been racing for years, I know what a 3500 stall converter is"
-"Sir it is"
"I have an 87 mustang 351 Windsor with 400HP and a 3500 converter and it's not like this" "A 3500 stall converter will automoticaly go to 3500 when you hit the gas".
He said my CONVERTER WAS a 1200 stall!! WTF, it's higher than that stock you moron. So I left, furious. I then stopped at Eckerds to get some milk. Got in the truck and did MY test. Pulled straight, held the brakes and gave it gas incrementially, 1500,2500,3000 RPM, then my tires started roasting as I did a burnout. Yeah, it's a 1200 stall. BS!! I'm so furious a guy in the business for 40 some odd years doesn't know what he's talking about.

So please help me. He said the clanking noise I have is a broke flywheel. It makes sense. my vibration problems and the metallic noise inside the bell housing. However, How did I break a flywheel after installing a TC? It just doesn't make sense.
PLEASE HELP!

Walgreens has better prices on milk.

What you should have done is got in the drivers seat, put the guy in the passenger seat, hold the brake step up the gas. With good traction the tires should spin 500 or so rpm lower than stall speed.

Check it out. Take out your starter and cover by the bell housing and see if the Flywheel is broken or cracked. I had the same thing happen to my 2002 WS6. I went and got a TCI.

Default Cracked flywheel?

Make sure your alignment pins are in the block while youre in there but other than that I've replace a dozen stock flywheels this year already. Like the guy above me said "get the TCI' As for the guy at the tranny shop

Another question, will a new OEM stocker be fine? I can't afford a TCI, just saw the price.

Speed Inc has the TCI for 160 or so. A stocker usually runs between 60 to 80.
