Default another gas mileage thread....

well, just got finished with 1600 mile road trip, and I was somewhat suprised by my gas mileage. I average right at about 25 mpg for the whole trip. The trip consisted of me going from Wichita to Oxford Ohio, and was mostly spent on I-70 the whole way pulling 75. I was at about 2300 rpms. Is this what most people with a4's and 3.23's see in this case? I dont think there was any noticeable or prolonged head winds, and i saw a slight increase whenever i was able to put in Shell V-power. It was done on premium the whole time (91-93 octane depending on where i had to fill up) all in all i had to fill up 8 times! Let me know what you guys think, cause i have a feeling my car is running slightly rich. OH, and this was before i installed my headers, it just took me awhile to make a thread about it!

I've never got 25 mpg in my A4 w/ 3.23's. When it was stock/bolt ons I'd get 23 at best w/ the A/C off. Now I get about 19 mpg w/ 3.73s and a big cam.

I do mostly highway driving(80-90%), 375 miles to a tank. That's roughly 23-24mpg.

2.73/A4 See about 2000rpms at 75-80mph.

Edit: On a side note my old LO3 90RS with Edelbrock Headers/Intake/Exhaust, K&N, Catco Cat, Jacobs Ignition, Fast Chip II, AFPR, and 3.73 would get 22-23 miles per gallon on the highway. Figure that.

on my 265 mile trips to DFW before my 3.73s i always got between 22-26 mpg. and the speeds varied from 60-105

now, with the 3.73s ive been getting about 22 mpg and i dont think ive taken it above 85.

I cannot get above 21mpg on the highway. This is cruising in 6th gear at about 80mph.

I'm not sure on exact mile/gallon i get but I know on highway i get a good 240 miles from a full tank on highway. I got big cam and all kinds of mods. And 3:73 gears (its an A4). I personally consider it horrible gas mileage. Probably because we used to take a civic on long trips hehah

I average 21.7 mpg city and on the trip i took to lubbock last month i averaged 26.50 cruising around 75-80. A4, 2.73's here btw, using the ac on the return trip.

I was going to buy a beater 4 banger of some sort to drive in lieu of gas prices, but why should i when my LS1 gets better gas mileage than a 4 banger Eclipse?

Has anyone fooled with the lean tables in HPTuners? I have a friend who claims he picked up 2 mpg.
