Just for your info as well. Once raced a Carrera(pretty band new, model unknown, not a boxster), It could no escape the wrath of LS1 . Wish I could have passed him, but there was to much traffic. After that inncident, I think the first upgrade I want is BRAKES . I had a scarry moment of brake fade. Has anbody raced a Porsche, M3, AMG's?

My cousin who had a firebird raced an M5 and kept up....but the only thing that separated them was when they went around the turn for an exit, the M% kept it's speed where as the fire bird was about to drift.

I never raced an M5 in my car, but I have a few different times on my bike. And I have to give credit where credit is due, those cars are wickedly fast for 400hp, they put it to the ground very well. I was going into a curve on my bike( on 610 west, inside loop, after S. Post Oak exit, Meyerland area, you know the curve), as fast as I was going 110-120+mph, that thing stayed planted all the way through. I honestly think it(M5) will kick my cars *** . Hopefully sooner than later I will have some serious mods.

they react really well to nitrous is all i know, there was an automiatic out at our local track a couple weeks ago that a couple guys were test driving and hooked a bottle to and ran low 13s. then ran out of bottle and went 15.6s, so stock ls1's might wanna watch out for sprayed 05's.

Those "Gay Torques" have some aftermarket superchargers, with good numbers. As of matter of fact, the new GT 500 has a supercharger. Just like the Cobra. I guess if I put a blower on my SS, I will take them out with a quickness.

I raced one at hrp. We were in the staging lanes and he was behind me so we started talking. He said that the salesman told him that his car has as much power as the mach and I was yeah like thats what I hear. well we pull up and he tells the guy that he wants to race me and the dude that sits in the chair in front of the burn out box ask me if it was ok and I was like sure well when I crossed the traps it looked like he was still at the 1/8 mark. I never saw the guy agian the rest of the night. He may have taken it back.
