4000 stall, Which cam?
Welp, new to the world of cams, and looking into one, I need one that would match well with my 4000 stall. What all is needed for a cam swap, and what would be a good sized cam to match my stall? Any help/info is appreciated!

With a stall that big you can go with just about anything. My 221/221 is a great cam for my 4000 stall, but I feel I could go much bigger. You really want something that does well from 5000+ as that will be your shift extension after you get going.

A medium stall may not be a perfect match for a larger cam, though a smaller cam is fine for a larger stall. I spent some time with a 2800 and it was great for the stock cam...That is a very big stall, you might be able to or go ahead and estimate matching a 4000 stall with something like the f13 for instance.

My MS3 (237/242 .603/.609 113) matches up to my 4k stall pretty well. Shift points are set at a slightly below optimal 6500 for the time being.
Just about any cam that could be considered totally streetable for a daily driver should be okay with a 4k stall, you'd have to get a pretty big cam to need a stall larger than 4k. This means the question turns into "what cam do you wan?" and not what cam can you get. SEARCh and read the cam guide sticky for help their. If you want pretty big but still daily drivable (after good tune) look at the TSP MS3, HPE S, LG G5X3 and others in that range.

A 4000 stall would work fine with an S cam. For an all out race only setup, a 4500-4800 stall would be better, but for a daily driven type car, a 4000 will be fine. We put 3600, even as small as 3200 in S cam cars all the time, and people love them.
