Default What's wrong with some of these people on sport bikes?

It was around 2 o'clock in the afternoon yesterday. I was crusing along when I look in my rearview mirror and see this guy on a sport bike about a foot from my bumper. I figured he was this close because all I could see were the headlights above my spoiler and we were doing about 50mph.

If I would have had to slam on my brakes, that guy would have went through my damn hatch window. He was in no position to safely switch lanes if I were to stop suddenly.

I realized how close he was riding my *** when he went around me and rode the persons *** next to me. He was literally inches from their bumper.

To top it all off, the guy wasn't wearing ANY gear. Just sneakers, jeans and a shirt. I felt like telling him how much of an idiot he is, but I figured he would realize it soon enough when he's in the hospital.

Don't worry about him, judging by his "gear"(or lack thereof), and his riding "style", he won't be around too long...

You got two worlds of sport bikes, the idot kids who buy GSXR1000s or R1s as ther first bike and do stupid **** and actually people who are in to riding just as much any one here is in to cars. It goes both ways, their bad drivers and just the same bad riders.

well sport bikes can stop on a dime, thats a fact, he'd be able to see over you in case of an event, but riding behind a truck, that just deserves a slap

The thing some of them do that gets to me is when they go in between cars in between the lanes...just because they can fit. They act like they can go anywhere just because they're smaller.

that not really bother me, it the norm now, the thing that bother's me is the big *** trucks that are inches off of your bumper and are all rushing you, one thing i learn in this cars is that you really dont have much of an *** as you do like a burban (former car) seeing those big *** grills trew teh back window to were you can see the bug splats is scary, the bikes, i just ignore them.

Too many of them don't have a clue on how to ride, or what to do if an emergency comes up. I knew a couple guys who went out and bought 700+cc bikes, brand new, and had never riden before. I called it when he told me, and said he would wipe out trying to be a badass around an 18wheeler... a week later, he slide out doin 120ish going around an 18 wheeler after he got a push from the air wave or whatever youcall it... ended up being alright with a little road rash...

Just yesterday I was at my parents, some young kid (I'm 20, so he was young) was haulin *** around the neighbor hood actin a fool with shorts, and flipflops on... thats it... darwin award in the making.

Note: I have several friends that ride, and have no problem with bike riders, just get annoyed at the tools that have no clue....

Down shifting or brake checking would have surely made him end up in my rear seat - he was that close.

I don't have a problem with people who ride smart and don't try to be "Mr. Badass" on public streets. I'm looking forward to getting a bike myself.

"white-lining" is actually legal in some states. I don't have a problem with it as long as folks are doing it safely. One of the benefits of the platform.

What size sports bike was it??? He may have just want to race you?? don't know.... I had a R6 run up on me a few weeks ago... He was on my *** for a while then I switch lanes down shifted. He stayed in the orginal lane and to my surprize he wanted some.

We where able to get down to a 35-40mph.. we hit it til about 110-115 I put about a car on him, when we exited and got to a light gave me a thumbs up. I was waiting for the excuse but nothing was said, he made his turn and that was it.

As brains said, it's legal in California.

Also called "Turtle surfing" b/c you are riding the reflectors down the road. Still dangerous, but if it's legal, it's legal. Most of the time when bikes do it, it is when traffic is COMPLETELY stopped, so there really isn't much threat. If they do it while you are moving, that's retarded.

Not sure what size the bike was as I don't know them that well. I wouldn't have raced him anyway, I'm only making a measly 330-340 at the wheels.

Yeah, the only problem I have with the guys doing it while traffic is stopped is that I am jealous of them
But the other ones make me nervous when they get too close to me

I had a guy one time try to race me down the beltway while riding a wheelie. That is just some insane **** in my book.
