Default d-1sc question

i just got a complete unused d-1sc kit, 42# injectors, walboro 340 pump for less than i paid for my full exhaust and was wondering what the minimum psi is that i can run with this kit - pulley size plz. i have an 11.05:1 CR and was planning on running 4-5 psi on 94 octane while pulling a buttload of timing. i want to get this thing in and enjoy it before the car goes and sits in the garage for the winter. i'm planning on getting more suitable heads for FI next spring when i can afford it so don't flame me just yet. mods are in sig - i know i have to go lose the march pulley.

thanks - search didn't help me all too much regarding such a setup

I believe the base D1SC runs at about 8psi.

The D-1SC can be run at low boost by just adding a larger pulley to the blower. Do you have the six rib or the eight rib set up? You can run 6 pounds of boost with your 11.0/1 compression ratio, and you will want to reduce the timing to 18 degrees at wide open throttle. Get the air/fuel to 11.5 to 12.0 at wide open throttle.
Sounds like you got an awesome deal, have fun with it! Bob

thanks bob,

i'm at work now so i don't have it in front of me but i think it's an 8 rib, i thought only the p1's came with a 6 rib setup - did older d1 models come that way? - i don't want to push the stock bottom end too much (i'll wait til i get a forged bottom end before i really turn it up) and i'm operating under the principle that when my rear blows up, it blows up and it's just an excuse to buy more stuff

is it just going to be guess and check with the pulley size? cause i know an exhaust like mine and a cam with an lsa like mine will lose some boost from what was rated out of the factory

6-rib or 8-rib belts are just a matter pulley swap on supercharger. Also as pulley diameter increases boost will be reduced, do to lower RPM.

When it is time to forge the bottom, do you really have to have a forged crank to run like 10-15 lbs from a turbo like this (intercooled)? What forged parts would a person need to run 10-15 lbs? Didnt mean to Jack your thread, but you may like to know too.

The older D-1SC kits prior to last year came with the 6 rib set-up, which is how mine is. At 8 pounds of boost or so, you won't have belt slippage problems with the 6 rib kit, just make sure you retighten a new belt after approx 1/2 hr of usage.
A good educated guess is about as close as anyone can come to in regards to how much boost your system will produce with any given pulley. Bob

The stock crank is good for well past 800 hp. Callies Compstar connecting rods and Diamond forged pistons along with Total Seal rings are the parts that we use for most of our build ups. Bob

when i had my d1sc i had a 3.6 pulley and i saw 5-7 psi so you can use maybe a 3.8 or 4.1 pulley for what you want.
