Default How much lift can I do without changing springs again?

just as the title says, i want to run a cam on stock heads and also NEVER change the springs again, unless some fluke where one breaks for some unkonwn reason. i saw where the hotcam is .525 lift and with that, people have said never change the springs again. so if i ran some Comp 918's, what is the maximum amount of lift i could run on a cam. i want to get one custom made to my criteria and specs, do i need to give yall more info to work with or no? thanks for any feedback!

Are you asking what is the biggest lift cam you can run w/ 918's and not have to ever change them? If so I would say .550 - .575 max and then take one out around 20K to test it just to be sure.

This question is like asking - how long can I run my engine without changing the oil? Changing your oil is easier than changing your engine.

If you don't want to change the valve springs run the stock cam and valve train... GM will guarantee them from the factory for 30K miles...

I do not agree with u, i have heard that with the hotcam and even LS6 springs, they are never needed to be changed agian, so i dont see how ur analogy works here.

I agree, theres no such thing as a power cam that be installed without having to change springs in the future. all upgraded cams will be a higher lift and duration. thats the reason why you get more power. more power means more stress on the springs.

Most i would go is the LS6 cam and springs, but that really isnt worth the trouble to me.
