Default what tweaks when running ls1 knock sensors on side of ls2 stroker block?

I've heard that it's necessary to tweak the knock sensitivity or some similar parameter, but have yet to see any info on what exactly to tweak, in what operating ranges, and what the new numbers should be.

Any info available on that? (or is it all proprietary "tuner" info at this point?)

Nobody is going to share how to set up the knock sensors for a 402?

I am in the same boat. I don't have the motor in yet, but my first thought would be that the knock sensor gain table needs to be increased. I would like to know by how much? I may be wrong in assuming that the frequency should remain the same?

The ls2 knock sensor is different than an ls1. The way it reads signals ect.. So in the software you just have to set the knock sensor to be the correct type.

.....and how do you do that?

I also heard you can't use a LS2 knock sensor in a LS1 car because the connector is different.

Efilive has a couple tables you should look at.
b1402 is one of them.
It allows you to select if you are using the flat response or resonant type of sensor.

What about that table that has different values for each cylinder?

I would think the variations between cylinders would be different when listening to them from the side rather than the top...

I was thinking about just flattening all those values to the average (when I was planning on going with the 402 - now going with 383 so it doesn't matter).

I believe everyone is using the LS1 sensors in the sides of the ls2 block. The sensor is not changed - only the sensitivity needs to be adjusted. I guess one method would be to turn the gain up until you start getting false knock and then back it off a bit. I am still concerned that EFI live 2001 and 2002 operating systems only have one knock table while the 99 OS has two - one for each sensor.

That must be a new feature, is it in the professional or workshop version? I have to look at my professional version when I get home.

I don't see anything for b1402 in V7.2 in either 99 OS or 2001 OS. What is it called?

Ok,

I am updated at home so I will check it out. wait4me do you already know the secret and just want to see us work for it I bet he does. Is the frequency the same and the sensitivity the only thing that needs to be adjusted?

lol, The software even tells you the pin outs on the pcm that you need to use to make the other sensors work. The other style needs a ground reference and the signal. Where as the ls1 type uses the case as the ground signal.

Ok cool.

I will be using the LS1 sensors in the side of the LS2 block. Will the frequency be the same (5.5 kHz) for the sensor in the side of the block. And will the sensitivity be the only thing that needs adjusting?? - need to filter out other frequencies?????. Come on now - give it up

Bump!!!!

I'm curious as well what adjustments others have had to make to the LS1 knock sensor sensitivity when mounted on the side of the LS2 block. I've done alot of searches and not really found any good detailed info for HPTuners. Any feedback?
