Finished the PTK install
Well I finished the PTK install and am going to be showing at the Food Lion auto fair at the Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte this weekend
I am showing with GM Muscle Of the Carolinas on the Grass between Pit Road and the start/finsh line
car has the PTk air to air kit with a Precision T67 Turbo
thanks to Dalton with PTK, Jose with forced Inductions, and Glen, the only other person that I know of that is running a PTK kit for there help
also thanks to Alvin at PCMforless and Dan at Pro dyno for helping me get it tuned. Did 488 HP and 585 TQ with the 7 pound spring installed but we did not have a boost guage hooked up yet and I dont know how much boost it is making. I will have better numbers after I get my boost controller boost guage and wideband on some time next week and I will get it dynoed again
It feels great when you steep on the gas and the boost builds

Hey, Darren... congrats on the install. A few ???:
Which heads?
Fuel system is...?
Running Methanol?
Using/will use speed density tuning? (or are you still using the MAF + MAF ends?)
I'm waiting on my PTK T67 air-to-air; very interested in your thoughts on the install and results at dyno and track.
Thanks,
Rich

Which heads?
stock for now
Fuel system is...?
walbro 340 Intank, stock lines and rails for now and 60 lb injectors
Running Methanol? No

No

yes
I don't really have good ## yet on HP I did make 488 HP with the 7 pound spring and no boost referance hooked up to the wastgate but we let out as soon as we heard the turbo start to spool (somewhere below 3500 RPM)and that HP# was at 4200 RPM
I dont have a boost guage hooked up yet
and now I am having problems with the fuel PSI
I think that I am going to have to drop the tank and check the fuel line in the tank because it is only making 15 PSI right now

If you have the Double Dimond sub-frames they will hit the exhaust on the driver side if you arn't really carefull
also with the 5,3 heads I think that your compression will be around 10.5 or 10.7 or so and well with boost = BOOM if you anit carefull
if you pm me your address I will send you some Photos of the install that will be helpfull
there are some minor issues with the kit but it is no big deal

Darren, thanks for the info.
No worries on the heads; I have a pair of AFR 225's (72cc) that are going on with the turbo. I'm excited to see how these pair up... Tony at AFR thinks we'll make real good power over stockish heads with the FI. As for the subframes, I guess we'll just have to see how the pipes route around there.
Sorry to hear that you've got fuel problems; I'm trying to ensure that fuel delivery will be bulletproof since I have a stock bottom end motor. One fuel hiccup on boost could = detonated death, I hear. Any special reasons that you went with the Walbro?
I've PM'ed you with my email; thanks in advance for the pics.

That sounds like a nice kit you have there. I have only seen one other turbo ls1 around and it was an STS and I didn't care for it too much, but I would love to see yours or see it at the track.
