Default EGR removal question???

Will removing the EGR make change the air/fuel ratio and if so will it typically cause it to run more rich or lean?

supposedly it can change your timing tables....but I don't know and you would have to delete the code and get like a freezer plug for the intake (works better than block off plates in my opinion) or else it will run rich

negligable if any results on performance and fueling.... (above is correct that EGR does have a slight affect on your overall timing .. but it's negligable)

Though.. only reason I can see for removing the EGR is if you're upgrading to an LS6 or F.A.S.T. Intake Manifold....

or if you bought headers with no provisions and because it makes it tons easier to do spark plug changes with all that crap out of the way and your area does not have any emmissions testing..

i took off my egr valve and it helped to reduce some detonation. i had to richen it up slightly and i mean very slightly and then it was fine. with egr i woudl get some knocking. keeps the intake temps cooler (in the manifold itself) plus you dont have uncombustable air in the chamber. the exhaust gases are useless and filling the cyls with useless air. prob not much but the piece of mind factor knowing the car didnt have that **** on there at least made me feel better lol

there is a table in HP tuners that deals with adding timing for certain RPMs according to EGR function. besides turning off all things associated with EGR, I zeroed that table out

I'm about to install an LS6 intake, and remove the EGR/AIR. I have currently installed a Thunder Racing Ported TB(75 mm), Thunder Racing Ported MAF ends(also stock diameter), Comp 1.75 Roller Rockers, Comp 918's, FLP LT's, Corsa exhaust, and a HPP3 tuner(for now). I think my car is running a little lean already. Will my pcm automatically re-adjust the fuel for the added air? Thanks...

take off the HPP3 first, those usually lean out a car.

I have a 3.73 gear also, so I really can't remove the HPP3 until I get it dyno tuned(MTI). When I changed out the spark plugs, I noticed they were white. Therefore, I figured it was a little lean. Will the install of the LS6 intake and removal of the EGR/AIR make things worse, if I don't get a tune right now.

If you don't turn off EGR stuff in the PCM, you can get up to 7 deg. of advance added depending on MAP vs. rpm.

So with all this (thread) said, is there a particular list of HPT tables to make sure you edit or zero out. What would happen if you just zero out Engine>Airflow>EGR Airflow? Maybe stupid question, but it seems that table controls the actual amount if any...zeroing it out would seems to stop egr operation all together, but what other tables would you need to "balance" if I may?
