6.0L Rotating assm.
I have a 6.0L short block sitting here and was wondering if the rotating assembly would work in my ls1 and if these parts are any stronger than the stock ls1 (Crank, rods, and pistons). The ls1 is already out of the car and the 6.0L internals have about 2000 miles on them. Thanks for any help

they use the same crank... the pistons would not fit from the 4" bore..... i don't know about the rods. i would just put some forged pistons and rods in the 6.0 block, use the stock crank, and have a throw a big cam in it! i don't think the stock internals from either engine are strong than the others though.

first the IRON block is far superior to anything made by GM, this is because the main design was made with finite element analisys with aluminium in mind, let alone iron...
second the "truck" crank is different in that has a wider seal pad (next to the flywheel), although are some exeptions in modern light duty trucks where there are narrow "car" seals.
of course the pistons are heavier (bigger size) but even the 350 lq4,etc have heavier pistons.
the rods are differnt too, the big end in truck rods have thicker walls, and the shape is different

all heads bolt in all blocks (exeption of the smaller 4.7l I think)
with a 6L engine I would bolt a LQ4 heads, (simmilar in size and shape to the LS6-ZO6) but with lower compression and a HELLUVA CHARGER...... ;-)
