What to tune on an automatic car
First off, is $500-700 a good price for a tune? Second, when I go to get the tune done what should I have done to my automatic car with the few bolt ons listed in my sig? I want to delete my air, egr, and rear o2 sensor codes, but what else needs to be done with the tune? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Do you plan on any other mods in the near future? If so, wait til those are completed before spending the money on a good tune. I don't see any thing in your sig that is really going to foul up your car not getting tuned. Just get yourself some 02 sims for the time being.

$700 is very high.
I would wait unless you know that your car is pig rich. Think about how you drive. Do like the part throttle shifts and lock-up? If not change them.
why would you pull off emission equipment on car you are going to sell? That can come back to bite you years later.

I agree... Also, top of your sig says that your car is for sale, so why even bother?

Well I am no longer selling the car, I forgot that I added that to my signature. I love the car too much to get rid of it. So as for the tune, I would eventually like to get a cam, new heads and replace the valve train, but for now I don't have the money. I have two years until I am out of college so it will at least be that long. A friend of mine just got his car tuned at this place, where I would take mine, because his car was running VERY rich and it came out to $700 10 tunes later to get his car where it should be with the same mods as mine except he has a manual. He was also given the Predator which was used on his car. I have heard that you should get your shift points moved when you do a tune on an auto and was just wondering what else there is to tune to an auto that does not need to be done on a manual?

As to the original ? I don't think you need to have it dyno tuned. With your mods I would look in to a mail order tune. Just my $.02

700 is high. Generally its around 500 for a full tune. Some places around here will tune just the trans if you want for 150. If i were you i wouldnt get a tune yet espically since you dont have a converter.. You should get the converter first and maybe look into getting hp tuners and tune it yourself. Pretty easy to tune the trans.

What converter would you recommend, I was looking at the TCI Super Street Fighter but I have to wait a bit on that as well. No more mods until I am out of school, I am in too much debt right now to go any further. So two years, one and a half if I take some summer classes. But thanks for the help guys, I guess I will wait with the dyno tune for now, and maybe check into one of the mail order ones and some 02 sims
