Oil Additives... you believe in them? Why? What do you use?
As it says... do any of you use oil additives? Which ones?
I used to run the Prolong in my old car... it was a 2.5L V6 and after using Prolong for most of its life I put a 125shot direct port NOS kit on it, this was installed at 114,000 miles..... and it NEVER broke. Something in the back of my head tells me that the Prolong may have had something to do with it. Maybe not...
Anyways.. Ive been wondering if I should start using any additives in the SS.
Suggestions? Comments?
TIA.

He make a good point in why add an additive to an already well designed oil. All I know is This engine in my current car is my first to make it to 200K. THis is the only car that I've used it in.

I have my oil checked every year by Terry Dyson. He recommends using Lube Control in the oil, which is an anti-oxident not a supplement. My oil definitely stays cleaner. I was going to have it analyzed again this year, but after the cam change it is contaminated so I can't. I will continue to use the Lube Control though.
