Default Vette tranny bad...

Whilst I was driving down the highway on the way to work this morning, the Vette started gaining RPM's and losing speed. UH OH! In overdrive the RPM's went to about 4500 and it wasn't pulling. Shifted to third.... 5500 rpms and not pulling... Hit the flashers and coasted to the shoulder. At about 40 mph I shifted to second and it picked up again. So I drove on in second gear at about 45 mph.

I guess I'll do the same on the way home

The good news is that I guess I can go ahead and do a convertor now.

The bad news I'm a little apprehensive about beating on the truck with a known bad tranny in my back up car....

Cory, I think it is still under warranty. I gave you the paper work, I had it rebuilt about a year and half ago, ******* thing cost my 2500 dollars.

That's a bummer Cory....but that would be cool if it is still under warranty!

I think we can get the shop to fix it if Mike goes over with me. That would be kind of nice so I could recover from some recent purchases.

I talked to them (the shop) today and it is a month out of warranty but they said to bring it over. I'm certainly not willing to pay them to rebuild it. If they won't fix it under warranty, then I'll figure out a time to pull the tranny and bring it over to you, Ellis.
