Default Alpine cda 9855

Well my monsoon h/u bit the dust won't play cd's so i've been looking at the alpine cda 9855 and it has pretty much everything i'd want in a h/u. my main question is have ya'll had any experience with this h/u or similar models and if you have i'd appreciate your opinion before i go and buy one.
Thanks in advance.

A caution about the 9855 is the glide strip, as many people do not like it. I have had the 9855 for bout 4 months now, and have gotten 'accustomed' to the glide strip. (and by accustom, I mean I try not to use it unless I am selecting playlist from my Ipod).

I would definately recommend going to a store and playing with the glide strip to see if you like it, or wait until the new alpine hu's come out and you can buy mine (if they drop the glidestrip).

Feature wise, its great. It has one of the best Ipod interfaces, decent eqing ability and crossovers... overall very nice single din hu. (and it looks very nice with a dash kit from humounts.com)

One of my favorite parts about it is the ipersonalize feature... one of my friends got one and he loves it.

id say google it, i was infact lookin into getttin this exact deck but heard of many people having trouble with the first ones not being able to eject cds after a while(some people a matter of weeks, some months) however i believe alpine fixed this problem and the newer ones without them should have a sticker on them (I believe a green sticker)

i went ahead and put in the cda 9853 with a 2 pair of eclipse se8365 speakers. I am amazed at how well this setup performs. everything installed was 650. the guy at the shop showed me how to use the glidetouch so that is not a problem. redfbird99 the box that the head unit came in had the green sticker so hopefully the cd eject problem is solved. Thanks for your replies, would have posted sooner but lost internet for a few days.

I just bought one a few says ago, and it works great, a definite inprovment in sound even with the factory speakers. The glide strip ain't that bad, gotten used to already, but loaded with adjustments, just missing a full color display, then it would be perfect, but the biolite even though white is really sharp.
