Yet another great day at the track and a NEW RECORD! @ NATIONAL TRAILS OHIO
As always the company at these events is nothing but top notch. I made three passes total. First pass was a 9.19 second pass was a little grudge match against the plum crazy guy’s out of Canada. It was a real exciting match up as he held the record for the fastest IRS car in NSCA’s American Super Car Series. I had my usual crappy light .2 but luckily he forgot his alarm clock and slept with a .4. That was the tell tail of the race as I edged him out with a 9.09 to a 9.10. My car definitely had an 8 in her as I spun badly on that pass. We lower the tire pressure and were awaiting the call for eliminations. The call came and I was up against Valla who ran an 8.60 in qualifying. I suited up and the car wouldn’t fire. I missed the run. I traced the problem to an ignition issue and got The Vette Doctor crew on the line and I mean the crew I touched base with Carmen, Dennis and Joey. They each gave me direction and I was able to get her up and running. It was running real late I thought I was done when an opportunity came up that I was going to be able to make that final pass. I staged the car ran a whopping 8.90 @ 151 the car was falling off at the end I was running 154 all day. That pass could have easily been an 8.7 but that was good enough for me 8.90 earned me the title of the quickest IRS C5 in the world edging out LPE’s 8.94. I believe I also hold the record for the fastest. This has been a record that I have been after for a long time. I have to thank my number one supporter/tuner/builder The Vette Doctor for sticking with it and helping me though all the trial and error. We finally got it done. There are many other corvette forum members and vendors who deserve mention as their help, parts and products played a big part of the successes. NRC for my cage and safety equipment, DTE for their strut, Yank for the turbo 400 case and adapters, A&A for the vacuum pump set up, Kooks for my headers and x-pipe. Callaway for a great flowing and sounding exhaust, I am sure I am missing some people and I will update the list as I think of them. As far as the members that’s a big list c3av, redgar, bowerboy, kwikfix etc... Too many to list you all know who you are thanks again
