I wouldnt put stage III heads on a stock bottom end. Just my .02 As far as clearence issues I would think you would be alright, beings patriot heads arent milled.

is it too much flow/high compression, im fairly new to heads, never really looked at them till now, but would then stg II heads be better suited for stock cubes?

I wouldnt go with stage III heads unless you have a bigger displacement. Stage II heads would be perfect for aplication. Give Gunnar at patriot a call, he'll fix you up with a good combo.

I think stage 3 heads are for 4" bore and bigger. Going with the patriot ls6 style head sound like a good idea. The trex cam is supposed to like compression and welding in the chambers wont effect piston to valve clearance. THe bigger valves will take a lil more room though.

The stage II would be a better choice on a stock cube bottom end. If you get a chance, give us a call and we help you make a choice on which head you should use for your setup.
