Installing subs and amp
Okay guys I am at a loss right now. I am trying to add (2) 12" Kenwood w3009 subs along with a kenwood 9102 amp. Now here is my problem I am adding to the existing Monsoon sytem on a 2002 Z28, so i am using speaker level inputs for the amp not RCA cables. I can not for the life of me get the damn thing to stay on. I wired everything up and I can get the amp to turn on momentarily but then it shuts off. I am just looking for some advice from some people that have maybe added subs and amp to stock monsoon system? Please help ASAP

I was thinking he may not be getting enough power to the turn on lead on the amp... maybe a bad relay? Could be tripping a circuit protection in the amp itself too... don't have much experience with speaker leads.

yeah i am plugged into the acc slot in the driver side fuse box with an automotive tab. The instruction manual says that it has some kind of protection feature to it so if any wire has a short circuit then it will shut the amp off. I hate wiring when it goes wrong.

i think i am going to pul the box and see about connecting everything to a friends car and see if it is my wiring that is the problem or the amp itself. He has an aftermarket head unit, so ill be able to check things with rca's too
