Default best lid and headers for the money

anyone have any suggestions...I was leaning towards a whisper or an SLP lid and don't have any idea as far as headers go yet. Help the new guy out hear.
Thanks
Eric

SLP Flow pac and pacesetter long tubses......The whole package cost me 650 bucks

Pacesetter headers alone I got for 400 and the SLP flow pac cost 250.....So I thought that was pretty good.

Also I recommend the pacesetter headers. I really like them

A lid is a lid, all give the same gains, buy one you like, or that you can get cheap
Headers, in the lower price range, Pacesetters (ceramic coated), are pretty popular, in the higher price range Kooks or QTP (stainless)
If you plan on lowering your car, SLPs don't give the best ground clearance, so there are times you will scrape the headers on the street
Check the classifieds, there are some GPs going on for headers, and check for a lid in the used parts section

Get any lid you want, look into fast toys ram air setup too, best headers would be QTP's or Kooks, i have pacesetters w/their armour coat, love em

because pacesetters are usually the cheapest, and there isnt much difference when it comes to HP.

Another vote for coated pacesetters, you wont find a better valued LT on the market, get their ORY also, chosse any lid you want they are all the same...

vote for Stainless Works. Best stainless steel header on the market for the money hands down. $200 cheaper than kooks or qtp when I bought them. High quality all the way around from the welds to the extra thick flanges. Also produce better torque (they say) from their design and size. I'm putting down about 414 ft #'s w/tr224 cam.

Here it is, simple... Find a used lid and buy some coated Pacesetters with a ORY. Can not go wrong and it is no better or worse than any other header lid combo performance wise.

LS1SPEED sold me a lid for less than $100. I am very pleased with it. I think it is a whisper.
