looks like maybe a modified Holley superam....maybe, definitely a little custom work.

Its the real early design on the TPI style Super Ram that Accel released first then the updated version which you see now came out.

Looks a lot like a mercury marine intake. Like a BBC powered boat EFI intake.

Bingo, yep it's a mercuiser intake. These are on the 454 and 502 EFI mercuiser marine engines.

i have owned and used the mercuiser 454 fuel injection, actually i just sold it on ebay about 6 months ago to a guy in canada
why use it ?
thats simple its fuel injection for a big block...duh
its relatively cheap... compared to new after market systems ( i got mine w/ new injectors and the pcm reflashed w/ all the wiring dizzy everything for 1500 $.
i had it on my 454, start it up everytime and drive, it was an open loop system and it flowed 1250 cfm plenty to make good power in a big iron.
they cam in cigerette boats mostly and if youve ever riden in one they are designed to run pretty much wide open all the time which is what thes intakes did well
only drawback is the whole aluminum setup probly weighed close to 65 pds
