probably get them from GM. I may just order it today and go ahead and put them on since the tranny will be sitting in the back of my truck.

I did my buddies. There is a guy in Houston who sells the custom housing with the reluctor ring and it works flawless. I will get you guys the info from him today. And I will update this. He went from a 4l60e to the th-400. Then it was wasting way too much gas so we did the M6 conversion on it. SO Ive had my fair share of dealing with this stuff. I will update this later on today

You need the reluctor wheel. Your car will run and drive fine, however, your speedo might be off of the charts!! I mean, my needle was buried. The obvious disadvantage of not knowing how fast you are going, and watching the miles rack up like mad hurts too.

I cannot remember where to get the wheel from. There was a place here in Texas that makes then entire fabbed tailshaft housing with the reluctor wheel etc. Danny at Lethal Performance has that number though....

JM, will you get it and post it?

Performance transmission and Billingsly did my TH350 conversion. I have a tailshaft with the VSS sensoe in and it hooked up to the stock 6 speed pigtail. I did have Speed Inc tune to get the speedo right.

PM meand I can get you the number for Performance. They built a jig to set this up right.

So will this require me to get an M6 VSS, or no? I am coming from A4 to A3. I thought there was just a reluctor wheel to assmeble in the tailhousing and then viola it was like magic picie dust and working Guess I'll be calling...thanks everyone, but let me know about the M6 VSS thing.

well... you are correct. here is a wheel that converts the magneto, but do not forget that your computer needs to think it is an M6 car in the tune.

So, I will need to reflash my entire PCM (currently 2000 A4) and use a 2002 M6 flash (benefits of 02 os, and M6 for trans swap). And get a new reluctor assembly thing. Will I need an M6 VSS also or no? Need to call Don or Danny back and get the info for the tailhousing as they were pretty busy yesterday.

yes. will need to reflash the PCM to M6 so that your car is not looking for a transmission there.

the people that danny will refer you to will build a tailshaft housing with the ring installed etc. It is direct bolt in.
