Default Question, Looking at a 99 LS1...

My buddy is looking to get a 99 Trans AM and we went and looked at it today, completely stock, clean carfax, Black with Black lth, looked real good. Ok, so here's the question we have. We started the car and it sounded fine. When I pushed on the gas a little the seat started to vibrate/shake untill about 1500rpm then it went away, and you could only feel it if you sat in it. Didn't do it at idle, only if you slowly pushed on the gas. It didn't do it when we were driving it. My TA doesn't do that and we were wondering if you guys had any idea on what it might be or does it just do that. Thanks.

mine does it too...never figured it out and stopped worrying about it.....done it since ive owned it about 16,000 miles ago so i dont think its anything serious.....i think its either a slipping belt (belt tensioner), vibration from the exhaust, or possibly but i seriously doubt it a missfire.....my y-pipe is rusted inside and u can hear it rattle around in there when u bang on it while its on a lift so thats what im mainly looking at as the cause right now.....i wouldnt worry about it much though.

I hope it doesn't have ebony interior, I don't think ebony was offered untill 2000 or 01.

Don't be too picky with these cars, it's a muscle car and it's GOING to have rattles!

I'm the one looking at the TA. I've only owned mustangs and this will be my first fbody. I didn't think it was anything to serious. The interior is more like a charcoal. Thanks for the help guys. Might be around here more often if I end up finding one I like.

Here she is

looks pretty much identicle to my car, cept i got the black int.

nice looking ride

also, my car does that slight vibration, most of these cars ive driven do it as well. if i could guess i would say its just wear on bushings, i.e motor mounts transmiting lots of vibrations.
