Default Anyone have the FRC cutting templates?

...already searched, any links I'm turning up are dead...

I picked up a set of the 97-98 Corvette FRCs, just looking for the templates, figured it'd save me some time...

Thanks!

I really doubt anyone has templates that they'll just give away, ...
Just be brave, look at all the photos, & start cuttin', ...

I did a Yahoo search when I originally cut mine and found a really nice site, but I came up empty-handed this time.

Here's a pic of mine cut if it helps any:

it takes alot of time and cutting. it took me about ten hours to cut, fix and cut some more, and bondo the letters and sand and primer and paint, then clear coat. at the end, cover the entire cover in tape and then put it in place, so you wont mess up the paint, then remove the tape after its on. its a bicth to put them on!!!!

I also found this pic floating around. Anyone know who made these overlays, and if so, if they still do? I'm looking for something like that, without the SS on it...

No problem. The key is to take your time and not rush it. When I did mine, I made sure that I had the entire afternoon to work on them. There's a lot of installing and uninstalling in order to get all the cuts right. I'd also recommend cutting smaller than you'd think. You can always cut more off, but it's hard to add it back on if you've cut too much off. Keep in mind that your car might require different cuts than someone else's car. When I snagged reference pics off the net, my cuts ended up being different than the reference photos.

I'm getting ready to cut a new set if FRCs myself. After I removed my Air system, I freed up some space and won't need as much cut off of the FRCs now (especially the driver's side). I'll probably just sell the current set that's on the car when I'm finished with the new ones.

Good Luck!

Yeah, I don't plan on cutting nearly as much off as some I have seen. I'm gonna go a little at a time and keep re-fitting, i'm super picky about stuff not being right, lol...

I probably could have fit mine better around the AIR system, but it was far enough under the cowl that I said the heck with it. Now that the Air system is gone, that big hole sticks out like a sore thumb

If you can, post up some pics when you're finished. Maybe a step-by-step for others to work from? I'm going to do a pictoral install when I do mine to put on my website.

Yeah, a guy from the local fbody club up here bought a set a few years ago, but the e-mail address he had for the person he got them from is no good anymore.

He had gotten them from a Terri Lane at tlane@spacehab.com - but that address is no good anymore, and I don't know if Terri Lane was just someone selling them, or the actual producer...

PM to Teri9672, She used to make the plaques a couple years ago. In fact, that's probably her photo.

Here's a couple progress pics. It's fitting pretty well, still not as well as I'd like though... still sitting high in the back...

This is a royal pain, lol...

All done

...I'd take a few more shots of the finished product, but my camera's battery died, it's charging now...

Looks really nice Stuart! It looks like they sit really nice on the fuel rails too. I had a little problem with my driver's side not wanting to sit properly....drove my self nuts getting it right I've never been 100% happy with the way it sets, so I hope to rectify that problem when I cut the new set.

See what I mean about each car being different now? You had to cut more off of your passenger side FRC than I did, and less on the driver's side FRC than I did. On my driver's side FRC, the "E" in "CORVETTE" is completely gone. Good thing it was tucked up under the windshield enough that no one noticed

Good work!
