IMO:
I wouldn't trust that shortblock as far as you could throw it.
Scoggin-Dickey, Texas Speed, or Speed Inc. offer some pretty bad *** combos!
You should see if you can get ahold of the GM High-Tech Performance magazine July/August Issue 2005. It has 15 or so short-blocks for under 5 grand, and all the specs.

I believe that Thunder Racing has a package as well...but by the looks of it I think that you already have some info on the SDPC 402 LS2...

SLP would be on the BOTTOM of my list of shops to do the motor.
They won't back something as simple as an oil pump....couldn't imagine the hell it would be to try to get any help with a motor.

I was looking at this short block too. The price is sure right, but this thread scares the heck out of me. I was gonna look into the low cr version, and use my AFR 205s and T-trim with it. My rings are on the way out, so I'm gonna have to do something before Spring...

Check out my sig for numbers on a smog legal 402. Rapid has a non smog legal 402 that puts down 553rwhp as well. First class job from start to finish. You can PM me if you have any questions at all, I'd be glad to help.

I got mine from TSP for $3800. Mine is an LQ9 block with an upgrade to Lunati Pro Mod rods.

I would go with TSP, HPE, or Speed Inc; reputable and stand behind their products and work 100%. Their strokers and shortblocks are some of the best being built hands down.
I wouldn't and won't buy a thing from SLP ever. All of my interaction from them when I started modding was mediocre at best and ever since then my business has been with TSP who have taken excellent care of me everytime with no problems, issues, or complaints.
