VFN offers both paintable carbon fiber and finished.
The C5 is the Lemans edition vette but the CF on that is just a sticker it's not the whole hood from what I understand.

Get off his back guys, he intrested in going fast. Not looking like a Honda.
Roman, VFN can build you a nice carbon fiber hood. Last time I talked to Jeanie she said that carbon fiber has a pretty big lead time right now because of their supplier. I think they where $1250 or somewhere in that neighborhood.

There is a big difference in carbon fiber parts. Most of the cf hoods and cf trunks that people see on hondas are just fiberglass parts with a carbon fiber layer layed ontop of it. This does not save any weight.
If you want to do a full out carbon fiber part with no fiberglass then it would save a lot of weight and be stronger. But the thing with a full out carbon fiber part is that it is very expensive. Im not sure why way VFN makes their hoods but make sure to ask if its a full carbon fiber hood or just a fiberglass with a layer of carbon fiber ontop of it.

VFN makes true CF parts, none of that rice ****. its availabe in cosmetic and lightweight. cosmetic has a portion of the CF visible such as the SS scoop, but they weigh a tad more. the ligthweight is fully painted, and is made for absolute weight savings. all of their hoods are available as bolt on or pin on

How about all the European sports cars that have CF body parts. Is that rice?
He didn't ask for your opinion, he asked a simple question if anyone knew where to get one.

[rant]I don't even understand why you idiots replied just to flame him because he wants a carbon fiber hood. I'd give anything to have a carbon fiber version of my hood, and no it's not for the weight savings. Maybe instead of him going and buying a Honda, you guys should go kill yourselves for being ignorant conservative ******** that can't open your mind to doing something original and interesting. [/rant]
On topic, regardless of whether or not it's fiberglass with a top layer of carbon fiber, or it's all carbon fiber, compared to the steel hood there's going to be weight savings.

I love the CF hood on my Vette. I wish I had one for my TA. The hood on my ZO6 weighs only 10.4lbs half the weight of a normal vette hood and prooly 1/4 the weight of my stock TA heavy *** hood.
