does anyone run 4:10's on 17inch wheels?
I was just reading another thread and got to thinking..........I have 3:90 gears and will be running them on 17inch rims with 315/35 DR's. That might be a problem. I do have my rev limiter set to 6800rpms.........
Has anyone ran a setup similar or Identical to mine?
I don't want to run out of gear at the end of the track.

315/35 should be like 26" which is probably right around your stock tire height, and if you redline at 6800, I really doubt you'll be running out of gear in 4th trapping 113. But I dont know, just taking a wild guess..

I run 315 DRs & 4.10s & go thru the traps @ 6k, but I have an A4. If your M6 gear ratios are the same as an f-body, then you should be able to hit 128 mph in 4th @ 6800 rpm. Which would be good for low 11s......

So are you going to stick with DR's with your new setup? Or are you going with slicks?

I probably will run the DRs the first time out just to see how they stick...or should I say IF. Once the car gets moving they should hold it. Just not sure how hard it will end up launching. Right now the tires do not spin. I eventually plan to run 11.5" x 27-28" x 15" slicks. But it would be fun to drive the car to the track & run 10s in street trim...

Also rememebr mark you just added about 2-300lbs to the car. That tire should hook preety damn good, I know my qtp's in that size hooked real nice.
I had 4:10 with a 275/40/zr17 for a while and on motor i would cross low in the rpm range about 6400, mybee a little higher. If that helps.

With the spray you better go to a taller tire. when I was on the juice I had to run a 28 inch slick just to keep it under 7300 over the line. just remember on the juice it is a whole new ballgame

MArk to get the 28 to fit right i hope you have adjustable lca and a good sawzall for trimming the wheel wells.

With the 11.5 you might have to beat in the inner fender well. also make shure you check to see if the bumpstops rub, which they might.

I'd like to run some ET streets. What kind of rim should I get ($ is an issue here) and what tire size should I run? Remember my car is lowered quite a bit.
