When I first put Mobil 1 in my T-56 oh, around February of 2000, everyone said the same things: it'll shift hard! The gears will grind! Your synchros will disintegrate! You'll become flaccid...!
With 60k on my tranny and having been using Mobil 1 exclusively for the last six years and 55k miles, any ill effects have thus far failed to materialize. Shifts are smooth, the tranny's quiet, and well... I mean, what else can you expect out of a tranny, eh?

young- You may want to take a read through both of the threads below in their entirety...basically you'll have to form your own conclusions on this subject:
Ending the speculation: Blocker rings, who's had them fail?
Which T56 fluid?

Likewise, I've used Mobil1 synthetic in my '00 M6 for the past 35K miles and there have been NO transmission issues whatsoever.
Now, the rear, that's a different story.

I will for sure read into the other forums about the fluid type. I was really thinking of using the Mobil 1 since I believe that they make the best motor oils. Thanks for all the input.
