6 Pt. Roll Cage?
Well it has come time to break down and cage my ride because I keep getting told I can't run past the 1/8th mile at the local track. I just have a few questions for you guys that went with a 6 pt.cage.
I am most likely gonna get a Wolfe 6 pt. 4130 Chrome Moly cage with swingouts, over the rear seat, and low side bars. Should I get it jig notched? Also what complications if any did you notice from/after the install? Is there anything that I need watch for.?. I know that chrome moly stuff has to be TIG welded. What is the wieght difference between the regular steel and Chrome moly? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Moly is like 30% lighter. Go to the Wolfe site it will tell you the difference in weight. www.wolferacecraft.com

I have the exact setup you are considering & it fits like a glove. I went with jig notched assuming I would do the install my self, however after practicing with my welder to find my skills were a little, say um, substandard & the realization that this install is a critical safety item I went ahead & had a local chassis shop install it. These guys usually do their own stuff & don't like to mess with kits but they said the fit was excellent.

I put in the 5 point with low slung door bar weld in chromoly one. fit GREAT .
WOLFE is the MAN when it comes to roll bars and cages. never heard of an unhappy customer concerning the fit.
Are you going to weld it in your self? i'm a welder for a living so it was no problem TIGin mine in did it in one afternoon.

I am gonna go with the low slung sides and no swingouts then. It is not like I drive the car much anyway. Plus I only weigh like 180 lbs. So my narrow *** can make it over the bar.
I am also gonna have a local chassis shop do it for me. I am just waiting to hear back from a few of them. Once I get their price quotes I will decide. Thanks again.

I apologize for hijacking this thread but can you get the bolt-in kind and do it yourself? Will it pass tech at the track? I really don't want to weld one in because once its there it there. I'd like to be able to pull it out if I have to.

I just put that exact cage in my TA. When you order it from Wolfe you have to get it jig notched. They wont sell it to you unless you do. Plus it will save teh welder/Fabricator who installs it a TON of time.
+1 for Wolfe and their cages.
