Default how do i shave off a 3rd of second

13.1 was my best time this weekend, this was after the car had been running for 3 hours down there and almost straight racing for about 30 mins, so i think if i let the car cool down we can get it down that last 3rd of a sec, we did all the weight reduction we're gonna do (ie jacks and spare) took out the air filter , and prayed really hard, we're going back for the last time till march , i want to know a sure fire way to shave off that last part so we can get her into the 12s and come back next season with a bang, im kinda panicky so i need so assurerence, the car is power tunned and has shorty headers and flowmaster catback , 1998 formula, hope this helps give you a clearer view of what we're working with. we've only got a 100 bucks before we break the season budget, and .3 secs till we make the season goal , please any suggestions, i dont even care at this point if its a cheater mod , just crazy about making the mark.

Get rid of the Slowmaster exhaust to start with. its robbing power. get a set of drag radials. should be 12s right there if your 13.1 on street tires....

well tires would cost more than 100 and get us way over our goal , but im not about to put those on my stock rear -end, and we may take off the exhaust if we decide to tow it on our trailer down there, but im not gonna drive 3hrs w/o and exhaust, not trying to shoot down your suggestions, thank you for the help, anything else?

If your an A4 you will be fine on a stock rear. I ran 3+yrs on them with a stock rear before going to a 12 bolt after the 6spd swap. Yes, its more than 100$ but the faster you go the more it costs. Only thing you can really do is take out as much weight as you can. Like the stuff you listed plus all the seats (pass/back seat) for free.

As far as the exhaust, what i meant is with the flowmaster you are holding back 15-20hp compared to a hooker or other cat back.

Flowmasters rob our cars like crazy....

- My bro just hit 12.95 @109.03 last weekend with 327rwhp/340rwtq, it took a looong time to do it but i did all the little things like, poped out the plastic filter on the hood, took out the mats/sparetire/jack/rear seats, dropped the tire pressure down to 22psi, and raced in dry 60 degree weather and even had a slight tailwind blowing on my back. He used BFG kd's to pull the 1.990 60'ft. good luck!

you mean he took off the induction system under the hood (i.e. poped out plastic filter on hood) or took out the grille inserts for the hood? so i guess the tires are as much of a help as everyone says , next time tho , tell him to drop it to 18 psi and go down form there. is it a m6?

With the nittos, you'll make it into the 12s. Just make sure you do a long enough burnout with them.

I would put in a cutout. Definitely good for a .1 or .2 over flowmaster.

So what do you plan on doing before Friday to get in the 12's? Nittos and what else? You could pull your front swaybar off to help plant the rears off the line. I yanked mine and it doesn't spin at all with my Nittos off the line.

well , tonight i am gonna disable to tb coolant bypass, i found a really nifty way to get the air from the air dam into the air box, take off the whole air box at the track (i have a small filter to set in there between runs), take off the exhaust, bringing bags of ice to set on the intake between runs, taking off the maf screen , i know the tires will pull us into the 12s, the 13.1 was on bald street tires, so i hopped in big time in the 60', but i am just trying to secure that scenario, i am pulling anything out of my *** to make this happen, especially since the tires are gonna be close to get here and on by 3pm on friday...what about you , find anything?

You should easily get into the 12s. Get that 60' down to a 1.9 minimum and you are there.
