help with window switch rpm points
Ive seen most people say to shut off about 200 rpm before the limiter. I have a F14 cam with the limiter set at 6800. heres my dyno graph
http://darmer.com/dyno%20graph.htm
I have stock bottom end so I was thinking maybe when Im spraying shift a little sooner to be on the safe side.
When I shift at the track I release the gas pedal when I do the clutch and then hit the gas back down when I shift, so the WOT switch should cut off when I shift, but Im not sure if this affects any thing.
I was just wondering where I should try to cut the spray off at and where to shift. I wasnt sure how long after it cuts off the nitrous stays in the engine. Is the goal to time it so you shut it off, and just as the remaining nitrous goes in you should shift? and for max performance this should be right before the rev limiter?

To run his quickest ET's, he needs to shift 200-500RPM past his peak HP numbers that way it falls back into the power band when it shifts. I'd set the window switch at 6600 and shift at 6600-6700. You could probably benefit from a higher rev limiter and higher shift points but if you're on a stock bottom end thats probably enough.

thanks for the info!
so should I try to shift right when the spray is set to cut off? (according to window switch)
I would assume its slow if it runs though the engine and the engine looses power before you shift, but I was thinking its also bad to get off WOT when I shift if its still putting nitrous in the engine (cause it takes a small amount of time for the remaining in the intake to travel though right?). So I was thinking there is some small interval of time you should maybe wait after it cuts off to release WOT when shifting
Or is this not really an issue and dont worry about it?
Im sure I wont be able to actually do this perfectly anyway, it would depend on my reaction time consisancy when i see the shift light, and that changes for every gear, but I was just wondering about the theory behind it
Thanks again Dave for my nitrous stuff

Actually, you should shutoff the spray 200 rpm before your shift point (not your rev limiter setting) so you don't spray through your shifts (unless you want to or have a tranny built to take it).

so maybe
set shift light to come on at 6000??
set window switch off at 6400
try to react consistantly and shift at 6600
I forgot how many rpms it takes me time-wise to react (usual reaction is .5 sec right?)

I guess Im going to just have to experiement at the track to see what works with me. Man I cant wait to feel my car pull with it!!

So its hard to do it consistantly. I could just shift early in 1st but please, thats where the acceleration is at!
