Default Anyone have tips on how to improve my 60'?

My best 60' to date is 1.858. My technique: 25lbs tire pressure, 4wd, hold rpm at 3000ish or approx 5lbs boost, then go full throttle while letting off the brake. How do I improve upon this?

Also, assuming the same 60' time, how much difference would there be if I ran in 2wd? any guesses?

lol, if i thought it would shift into 2wd after a few sec I'd try it. I can't even get it to shift from 4hi to 2wd while at wot. I'm thinking/hoping a cam will help with this.

Take as much weight out as you can.

1.8 is pretty damn good for that big truck. If you can hook it 2wd might get you going a little quicker, less rotating mass will free up some power.

so is the concensus that I'm just not gonna get any faster off the line unless i lose some weight OR add some power? I wasn't sure if 1.8 was good or not.

that's an old pic. but, I am running Goodyear Wrangler RT/S 265/75/16. /They measure 30.5". I was running Nitto Terra Grapplers 295/75/16. Those were way too big.

Take out some weight, run it in 2wd and use some slicks.

If that doesnt work, take all of the weight out that you can, 4 wheel drive, slicks all the way around, nitrous, stall and try to break everything in the drivetrain on your first launch. Your 60's should get a little better.

Summer (skinniest you can buy) tires, along w/lightest & most narrow rims you can put on front, M/T ET Street radials on back, w/lightweight wide rims, and like Joe and someone else said--run 2 whl drive. That's alot of mass to get moving though--your 1.8's are very respectable. WJ

danali, i ran a 1500silverado w/ 5.3 this year several times,a nd actually went many rounds, it didnt spin off the line in 2wd, but i also have a friend with a 2005 duramax and edge kit that runs 15.0's and he has Rugged terrain tires, that truck will smoke upon impact of the accelerator off the line...althought the diesel does have about 800ftlb of torque. if i was you i would buy another set of wheels for the back and put some nice tall slicks or et streets, im not sure how tall they go but i think that would be your best bet.

I tried several times to run in 2wd, I just can't do it. Slowhawk saw one of them. I spun for hundreds of feet. basically just to be an ******* though, lol.
