bomb.
there are places where they can pull data from dead harddrives, might look into that
'data recovery' might cost ya a good amount of $ though..

Try setting the hdd up as a slave drive and not the master. Alot of times the hddwont let a OS be installed but will allow you to pull info off of it.

Are you in Houston or Denton? I might be able to help get the data off the old drive.

Are you at UNT? If so, are you planning to come to Houston for Thanksgiving?

This is CAMN, right? Well, good luck on getting the pictures back. I'm sure alot of people saved them. Too bad I never got to see her in person.

its a laptop, so you cant setup master/slave drives unless it has provisions for it, doubt it does.

hdd = hard drive

etc
its all techy crap, if you want, ill show you how all the **** works but i wont fill this with techy crap

but maybe you can goto that data recovery in ft. worth that was listed..

I didn't realize it was a physical issue. If it's really the reader head, there's not much I can do for you. Dell SHOULD make an effort to do data recovery (take the platters out and mount them in another drive to get the data), but I highly doubt they will.
