I recently got tuned about a month ago and my Trans Temps were fine usually at or around 160. My trans mods are a 3500 TCI stall B&M 24k transcooler and tune. The past two days when ever I drive for more than 30 minutes it seems that the temps reach 210. When every I push the throttle slight or heavy the temperature raises a little bit every time. It never use to do that.
When I go on the highway it still continues to rise at a high temperature. The temperature does not drop until I turn off the car. The car runs fine when ever I punch it. I do not feel any problems.

My only question is, why are my temps going up so high but do not drop off?

I hope its the trans cooler or the gauge, but who knows.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

when its really hot out mine has gotten up near/at the 200 range when im cruising around in town. but when im on the highway it stays 150-160. how hot does yours get on the highway?

Today at night in 45 degree outside weather I ran it from stop light to stop light for 25 minutes and the trans temp reached 205 on the street once I hit the highway I cruised for 5 minutes and it reached 210 degrees and did not drop like it usually does.

Is the converter locking up as it should be? Was the lock-up speed changed with the tune? Stock, it usually locks up somewhere between 40 & 45 MPH (in 4th). If it's not locking or locking & unlocking often, it will produce more heat. Do your headers run close to the cooler lines? How 'bout the exhaust pipe, is it close to the transmission pan? If so, they could be adding heat to the transmission fluid. Is the transmission temperature sender close to the exhaust pipe?

one other thing to check note to others !!!!!!.......check your ground on your tranny temp gauge mine did the exact same thing and i couldnt figure out why in the heck is my tranny so damb hot(225) and i rattled me brain rechecked everything and thats what it was gauge was not properly grounded now my temps dont go above 150-160 at all.

That might be the problem. I have had some problems with the gauge lights flickering on and off getting in and out of the car. Thanks.

also depends on where you mount the cooler. mounted in front of the ac condensor is the best spot- your fans pull air through the cooler and air gets slammed through it when moving. when mine was mounted "dope" style my trans temps did the same thing, rise up and not come back down, stayed around 200-210.

It shouldn't be that warm in this weather. BUT 200* isn't anything to worry about driving around. I hit 240* once in this summer's heat. Worry when it hits 220*.

a good way to check if the gague is the problem is to simply plug in a scanner and read what the trans temp is. If it says 150 and your gague is reading 210 well then there is the problem..

Any chance the torque converter is starting to slip? how's the fluid smell?

Wonder if the tuner reset your fans to stock temps
and now the trans fluid is running up against a higher
radiator temp than before?

check an make sure nothing is blocking your trans cooler i.e. a plastic bag

I found a big sheet of Newpaper covering the Trans Cooler and the Front Radiator.

Well, there you have it. I'm surprised at two things: The fact that it took that long before somebody suggested that and the fact that you hadn't already checked that.

It isn't always something you think to check, but should be one of the first things that comes to mind. I've had it happen to me before, but my piece of paper was a stupid flyer.

It's relieving to find out nothing was wrong and it's totally fixed for free, isn't it?

heh, I learn something new everyday. At least that was a simple fix, if it had gotten anyworse we'd of had you editing all sorts of trans tables. lol.
