Default What do I need after heads/cam.

Car is a '98 T/A, A4.
We had a big discussion in another thread about heads/cam, and I decided to go with the AFR 205 cc heads, and the FMS F11 cam, and LS6 intake...........
I also have a 3000 stall converter, and will be having a Moser 12 bolt, 3.73s put in soon after everything else is in.
My question is what else am I gonna need....I've read about many people that needed an LS6 oil pump and some other little stuff for this setup....
Any help on this is appreciated, just name any little thing that I might need so that I can go ahead and get it....

Thanks.

A tune for sure!

And I take it you have the handfuls of bolt-on's needed as well. they will help make it a more stout combo.

ported ls6 oil pump, new timing chain (ls2 chain is pretty popular), hardened pushrods...and of course the F13 cam instead

I dunno i dont run a ported LS6 oil pump and my car saw 7300 rpm on a dialy basis, like when i wasnt breaking everything else.

You'll need a new transmission. I broke my 6 speed, destroyed the 3rd gear synchro and snapped the output shaft on a 1-2 shift on nittos.

Injectors might not be a bad idea, my stockers are maxed out, you want around 80% duty cycle. Definately a tune, and yes hardened pushrods.

You don't need a new trans. Just get a "built" or have yours beefed up to the viper synchros and the hardened output and input shafts with steel shift forks.

Since you have a 98, you definitely need a new ported oil pump. Our cars (2000 and before) did not have the most reliable pumps. You'll need hardened pushrods, and a timing chain. I use the LS2 chain from GM parts direct. Its cheap and its what I use. Also, you'll need all new gaskets, I think Futral has a package (???) With heads and cam, I would step up to 30# injectors, but Im not sure if its necessary.
Also, it would be safe to get a trans rebuild kit, just to be safe. Some people blow the 4L60e with ease, and others last forever. PM me and I'll let you know the one I use, theyre good and cheap, especially compared to a new, built transmission.
Thats all I can think of as of right now.

Don't forget a pully, too. It's a good idea to put one on when you're doing a cam.
