Default Pics of my engine removal

I have been meaning to post this up, but finally got a chance to get osme pictures hosted for everyone. Dad and I put a new motor together because a dealership left a bolt in the intake after replacing the motor because of a spun cam bearing (all before I bought it). When I brought it in because it woudlnt idle(figuring EGR leak, or O2 or someting) came back and said no compression number 7 cylinder. They told Pontiac it had been racing(I had never street raced or raced track), so my warrenty with my new motor was over. Dad and I left with no other choice, both of us are fluent with cars(he has been rebuilding cars all his life, might be able to see his car in backround of oen of the pics) so we took it on ourselves. Great project. SpeedInc helped with all the parts with exception of the Shortblock outa LPE.

All Parts in sig. Enjoy

Should be able to click and enlarge in that window if not mistaken

Well, many a nights after work and dinner(7-11 each night or so) and took my time to make sure I didnt screw anything up. To get it out wasnt really that bad, Pry a good week or two because of my easy pace. Doesnt really take alot, just unplug everything and like 18 botls or something in there (not including driveshaft). THe pictures of the motor just out is how I took it out, I had the drivers head and intake off already when I was looking to see why I didnt have compression. Its not a terribly difficult project, just tedious. The only thing I f'd up was a brake line that got snagged when lifting it ( no creases, so just bent it bad and its all good). Used a chain host, so we could life the car slowly to make sure we didnt snag stuff.

Very nice and congrats to you and your dad. Post some times when you go to the track. Did you do forged internals?

Those are huge injectors for your stock cube engine. You should have a pretty damn low duty cycle.

Creative use of staging. I like how you did that. We always do F-bodies from the top.
