Homemade GMMG Chambered Exhaust?
I have recently though about switching from my Hooker 3" Cat Back system to something else. I like the sound of the GMMG Chambered exhaust system but there is no way i'm going to pay $700 or more for an exhaust system! I was on Summit Racing's site when I found some chambered mufflers that "look like" the ones used in the GMMG kit. Has anyone used these mufflers or tried to make a homemade GMMG knockoff system? Thanks...

I've thought about it too - all it would take is a few 90 degree bends, some tubing, and 2 chambered mufflers all welded together. Doesn't seem that expensive to me to fabricate - even for stainless.
Let me know if you decide to try it

Id be interested, kinda getting tired of my ol' hooker! I dont see why it wouldnt work. I would love to do that with my CME. It sure is expensive to just try & see what it sounded like though. But in the end, You'd prolly still come out about $300 cheaper then what it would be to buy the GMMG. If anybody try this, please let us know how it goes. Unless ya'll all want to donate me $10 a piece then Ill try it this weekend..

I did it with all stainless steel mandrel bends.
I wouldn't reccomend it, as it was a lot of trouble, but it did sound like the GMMG. It was about $300 cheaper, and didn't fit that well since I didn't route the piping the same way as GMMG.
I used sweet thunder mufflers, it sounded very deep and loud.
Probably the best sounding setup of 8-9 exhaust setups I've had so far, but still not as good as true duals.
