....with an LS1 intake and keep the LS6 intake for my project car? Also, will this LS6 intake (from 04 GTO) bolt right up to my LS2 ZL402 block?

You'll need to find an LS1 intake from a vette so theres no hole in it for EGR. But I don't think anyone will notice (i used to work at a pontiac dealership)

I figure that I would beat it like a rental, spray the **** out of it, and turn it in. LS1 intake will be the least of the problems that they will have with this car once I'm done beating on it.

haha, youre crazy man! but if you can do it... then do it. i wouldnt wanna be the next person that bought it, but dealerships are kinda shady themselves anyway... i doubt anyone would notice. what is it like a 5 hp difference?

Just FYI, having done this type of work in the past, GM has a complete department in each region that do nothing but inspect lease turn-in's. You may get away with it, but if you don't, you pay for the work to make the car right. The inspection isn't done by the dealer's used car lot.

If the car is turned in with a rod knock, and it's determined to be 'abused', you'll buy Pontiac an engine...

I know I beat the Hell out of rentals. Hell My parents even beat the crap out of them. We got a rental truck that is exactly like my moms. 2003 Dodge Ram 2X4 4.7 V8. She runs hers pretty hard and the little gauge usually reads about 15 mpg, the rental we got said 9!!!!!!! I think most people beat on rentals.

i used to work for a dealership and we never once turned in rentals to get inspected, all we did was a visual, and driving inspection. and i would almost gaurentee that the dealer wouldnt catch it. so go for it!
